China Miéville Sneak Preview: Uther Doul - Lemuria Press
Strange Adventures on Other Worlds

Subject: China Miéville Sneak Preview: Uther Doul
Security: Public
Location:Edina, Minnesota (The Homeland)
Music:Gainsbourg - Cha Cha Cha Les Loups
Did I previously mention that the very next issue of Dragon will feature a 50-or-so-page feature on the world of China Miéville's novels Perdido Street Station, The Scar, and Iron Council written by the_monkey_king? And did I mention that the article will include the first ever-ever publication of maps of Bas Lag, Miéville's engaging fantasy world, provided by the author himself? Did I mention that China worked extensively with us for more than a year to make this thing happen?

How silly of me.

To make up for this shameful omission, I offer you the issue's cover painting featuring Uther Doul and the Possible Sword, painted by the incomparable Ashley Wood:

Dragon #352 hits subscribers in about a month. If you like Miéville's work or even if you simply have a passing interest in superior fantasy literature, you'll definitely want to look for it.

I think this makes me as happy as the time I first got published in Dragon. Which is saying a lot.

If the rest of the issue is as pretty as that cover...

First you make me buy an issue of Dungeon for the re-do of Mud Sorcerer's Tomb, and now this. . . I'm starting to get the feeling you working hard to get me in particular to buy your magazines. . . ;)

Wow. I usually look forward to the next issue of Dragon/Dungeon, but that cover looks absolutely amazing.

(Oh, the content sounds exciting too; but... the cover!!111!!1!)

Subject: Bought Perdido Street Station
Well, on your recommendation on ENWorld, I bought the book at Half Price in Saint Louis Park the day after Christams. But, I then lent it to a friend and have not cracked it open yet. I hope to before my next Dragon comes.
